What we collect when you use this site or apply for an account, and what we do with it.

What we collect
- Account applications. Institution, contact name, role, institutional email, phone, laboratory shipping address, products of interest, and intended research use — the information you enter in the application form.
- Orders. When you check out, your email and the products in your cart are sent to our checkout provider; you enter your name, shipping and billing address, and payment details on its checkout page. [Name the provider (Shopify), link its privacy policy and describe order records — counsel.]
- Correspondence. Emails you send us about quotes, orders, or documentation.
- Technical logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) records standard request logs, including IP address and browser type, for security and performance.
- Your researcher confirmation. When you confirm research-use eligibility on entry, we store that confirmation in your browser’s local storage for 30 days so you aren’t asked on every visit. Your cart is kept there too, until you check out or clear it. Neither is sent to us until you check out.
How we use it
To verify applications, open and manage accounts, issue quotes, fulfil orders, provide documentation, respond to you, and meet legal and record-keeping obligations. We don’t sell personal information and don’t use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Service providers that help us operate — hosting, email, [form processor, if used], carriers, and payment/ACH processors — only as needed to provide their services. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. The only stored values are the researcher confirmation and your cart, described above. The checkout page is run by our checkout provider and sets its own cookies. [Update if analytics are added.]
Retention
Application and account records are kept for as long as the account is active and for [7] years afterward to meet record-keeping requirements, unless a longer period is required by law.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you by emailing [email protected]. We may need to keep some records to meet legal obligations. [Add state-specific privacy disclosures as required — e.g., California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, New Jersey.]
